Presence is the gift

What is your way of being? How are you portraying your life through your existence? Are you present in your life or on the figurative hamster wheel, just going because you "have" to go. It is time, time for us to wake up and be present in our own lives. The sleepwalking is overrated, and though comfortable at times, it is getting you "no-where."

Rachel and I recently acknowledged the evident hamster wheel in our life. For so many years, we have had the vision of Noah coming into our life and the last eight months we had no direction after this was achieved. Everyday was a unique challenge in itself and we caught ourselves just going for the sake of going. This has changed. The vision is coming into form for us, for our family, and for Serving Life on a BIG scale.

At Serving Life Chiropractic Studio, we acknowledge that consciousness is crucial to presence. It is time to increase our consciousness through any means necessary. With each and every chiropractic adjustment that is given consciousness is brought to the forefront of our presence. In our modern day busy society this consciousness is the gift behind our presence in our life. Awareness, growth, and human evolvement are the direct effects of the adjustment allow you to be more present in your life. Now is the time, give yourself the gift of presence, get adjusted.

Keep the best players in the game

Our chiropractic practice is an enormous teacher for me in my life. Recently, we had a wave of people come into our studio concerned about their finances. Immediately, I could relate to them because this has entered my life in the past. We as human beings hold our money stress in our low back area. The chiropractic adjustment helps integrate this energy so you do not have to carry it around with you. Financial stress is one of the most prolific stresses that is spreading in our current society.

After talking with these people and hearing their story, an amazing analogy came to me. I explain to these people that in my "former" life I was a huge athlete. Being an athlete taught me so much about life and about myself, yet the biggest lesson it taught me was about abundance. Throughout my life my coaches always wanted the best players in the game. It only makes sense, in order to have the best chance at winning the game the coaches need the best players on the court or field.

I view the Universe as the big coach and life as the game. When we as human being are coming from our heart and out of love we ARE the best players in the game. Remember, the Universe will always keep the best players in the game. Breath into this and trust in the Universe to win the game.

Beat allergy season: Get adjusted

As we head into Spring and all its beauty, renewal, and energy let's be ahead of the game. The game of health, vitality, and adaptation. Seldom do we think of these three words going together, yet, in our view they are all requisites for each other. Health is a state of wholeness, while vitality is the energy to live and grow, and adaptation is the ability to learn and grow in structure and function. This is the season to flourish with energy.

I encourage you to not let the lack of adaptation, such as "allergies", to get in your way. The life force flowing through our nerve system allows us to adapt to the changing world around us. Fortunately and unfortunately, this is the season of change. Physically, we see the change in our environment with shift in nature and light. Chemically, we see a shift in dust, pollen, and other "allergens."

Receiving a chiropractic adjustment allows your body to adapt to our constantly changing world by creating ease and optimal function in the nerve and spinal system.

Live with joy, get adjusted, stay connected.

At what age should a child be adjusted?

At a recent seminar taught by Dr. Claudia Anrig of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, we learned about when the first spinal trauma may occur to a child. It wasn’t surprising to hear that research suggests micro and macro trauma can be detected as early as the fetus within the uterus.

Did you know that the fetus develops seven times more quickly than an infant? This is why a fetus is even more susceptible to spinal trauma through external biomechanical forces that will affect the molding of the musculoskeletal system in the uterus.

When might this occur during pregnancy? If the baby has not moved into the vertex (head down) position by the seventh month, Intra-Uterine Constraint can occur leading to bone, cartilage, muscle and ligament deformity of the fetus. There are four fetal positions that cause biomechanical forces leading to spinal alterations and they are breech, face, brow and transverse lie presentation.

What can a pregnant woman do to support healthy development of the baby? Dr. Anrig says, “Conservative Chiropractic spinal care during pregnancy may prevent or decrease the possible occurrence of Intra-Uterine Constraint and its associated birth risks to the fetus.”

In our office, we have experienced that chiropractic care has not only decreased Intra-Uterine Constraint but also has kept mom at ease as the baby grows and decreases pain and length of “labor” and delivery of the baby. We suggest mom and dad keep their spines and nerve systems checked and in optimal health prior to conception and through the pregnancy with chiropractic care and healthy lifestyle choices.

Ignite your passion

Last week we were blessed to share the topic of "Ignite your passion" for Wellness Wednesday. We literally had a packed house with 30 people joining us.

Here are some highlights from the talk. Stop, take some time out from that busy schedule of life and reflect.

  • Where does your drive come from in life?
  • Why do you do what you do?
  • What is your purpose in life?
If you look deep enough it is always one of two things: stress or passion.

Passion comes from our core, our heart. These are the things that we love to do. Often times, we notice that we have lost track of time when we are doing these things. Passion is all about a process rather than something to achieve in life. When you are living your passion your life is full of ease, purpose, and flow.

Stress on the other hand, loads you up. When you are loaded in life your body works harder than it needs to. This is where chiropractic care comes in. The adjustment helps your body unload the effects of stress to ensure you are working at your best in life.

For more information on passion and finding your passion in life read the book Passion test. Live your passion, live your life to your fullest, get adjusted today.

Two hands of wellness

As I reflect on the topic of wellness, I can make it as shallow or deep as I choose. One one hand, it is a word. A word that I see misused and advertised in all sorts of different areas in our society. Some of these environments do not know the power behind the word that they put out to attract people into their environments. On the other hand, wellness is a life and lifestyle of wholeness, choice, and power.

Wellness in its essence is a choice on how each one of us choose to relate to ourselves, our loved ones, and our environments. It is multifaceted with seven different categories, all being a piece of the pie. These categories include physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, environmental, and occupational.

How we relate to each of these categories is the responsibility of our nerve system. We when have more clarity in our nerve system our body needs less time and energy to be connected with each one of the seven components of wellness.

When there is interference to the nerve system due to spinal dysfunction caused by stress, it compromises our ability to experience life to our fullest potential. When you address this interference through chiropractic care, you enhance your whole life experience. Get adjusted today.

Listen to people talking this time a year and you will hear nasally voices, noses being blown and coughs all around us. Look around and you will see Mother Nature showing off her beauty with colorful leaves and other plant life changing color. Are these two processes any different?

This time of year, every year, we as human beings go through a process of menstruation. Yes, men you do this too! This menstruation is a process of “sloughing” off layers of our upper respiratory system to renew for the winter. This happens every fall. How this looks on the outside is a runny nose, more mucus production, possibly a sore throat and cough.

Mother nature is also menstruating through shedding her leafs. This is a natural process for Mother Nature and for human beings. We can see it as this rather than some cold that signifies something is wrong with us.

Some helpful hints during this change of season: eat balanced, decrease your sugar intake, stay hydrated, and get adjusted.
