Keep the best players in the game
Our chiropractic practice is an enormous teacher for me in my life. Recently, we had a wave of people come into our studio concerned about their finances. Immediately, I could relate to them because this has entered my life in the past. We as human beings hold our money stress in our low back area. The chiropractic adjustment helps integrate this energy so you do not have to carry it around with you. Financial stress is one of the most prolific stresses that is spreading in our current society.
After talking with these people and hearing their story, an amazing analogy came to me. I explain to these people that in my "former" life I was a huge athlete. Being an athlete taught me so much about life and about myself, yet the biggest lesson it taught me was about abundance. Throughout my life my coaches always wanted the best players in the game. It only makes sense, in order to have the best chance at winning the game the coaches need the best players on the court or field.
I view the Universe as the big coach and life as the game. When we as human being are coming from our heart and out of love we ARE the best players in the game. Remember, the Universe will always keep the best players in the game. Breath into this and trust in the Universe to win the game.

At what age should a child be adjusted?
At a recent seminar taught by Dr. Claudia Anrig of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, we learned about when the first spinal trauma may occur to a child. It wasn’t surprising to hear that research suggests micro and macro trauma can be detected as early as the fetus within the uterus.
Did you know that the fetus develops seven times more quickly than an infant? This is why a fetus is even more susceptible to spinal trauma through external biomechanical forces that will affect the molding of the musculoskeletal system in the uterus.
When might this occur during pregnancy? If the baby has not moved into the vertex (head down) position by the seventh month, Intra-Uterine Constraint can occur leading to bone, cartilage, muscle and ligament deformity of the fetus. There are four fetal positions that cause biomechanical forces leading to spinal alterations and they are breech, face, brow and transverse lie presentation.
What can a pregnant woman do to support healthy development of the baby? Dr. Anrig says, “Conservative Chiropractic spinal care during pregnancy may prevent or decrease the possible occurrence of Intra-Uterine Constraint and its associated birth risks to the fetus.”
In our office, we have experienced that chiropractic care has not only decreased Intra-Uterine Constraint but also has kept mom at ease as the baby grows and decreases pain and length of “labor” and delivery of the baby. We suggest mom and dad keep their spines and nerve systems checked and in optimal health prior to conception and through the pregnancy with chiropractic care and healthy lifestyle choices.

Two hands of wellness

As I reflect on the topic of wellness, I can make it as shallow or deep as I choose. One one hand, it is a word. A word that I see misused and advertised in all sorts of different areas in our society. Some of these environments do not know the power behind the word that they put out to attract people into their environments. On the other hand, wellness is a life and lifestyle of wholeness, choice, and power.

Listen to people talking this time a year and you will hear nasally voices, noses being blown and coughs all around us. Look around and you will see Mother Nature showing off her beauty with colorful leaves and other plant life changing color. Are these two processes any different?
This time of year, every year, we as human beings go through a process of menstruation. Yes, men you do this too! This menstruation is a process of “sloughing” off layers of our upper respiratory system to renew for the winter. This happens every fall. How this looks on the outside is a runny nose, more mucus production, possibly a sore throat and cough.
Mother nature is also menstruating through shedding her leafs. This is a natural process for Mother Nature and for human beings. We can see it as this rather than some cold that signifies something is wrong with us.
Some helpful hints during this change of season: eat balanced, decrease your sugar intake, stay hydrated, and get adjusted.
